Famiy run campsite on our working Farm in Barlow

Elm Tree Farm Campsite is a peaceful 5-pitch campsite set within our working farm and livery yard in Barlow. During your stay, you’ll see horses grazing in nearby fields, we kindly ask all guests to respect the animals and avoid feeding any livestock.

To maintain the simple, low-key nature of the site, we cater exclusively for fully self-contained units, as we do not provide toilet or shower facilities.

We’d also recommend bringing self-levelling blocks, as the site has a gentle slope.

Campsite Rules

Check in and out

Check-in is from 12:00 pm. Please park your vehicle in te middle of the pitch sign within the guide so you leave enough room for your neighbours.

Check out before 11:00 am.

Quiet Hours

Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 7:30 am.

Fires / BBQ’s

Only gas BBQs are permitted. Fire pits and disposable BBQs are not allowed and you will be asked to leave if you are found using one.

Dogs

Well behaved dogs are very welcome. They must be kept on a lead at all times and not left unattended in your vehicle, you must clean up after them even on the private walk and you can dispose of dog waste in the general bin.

Smoking / Litter

Smoking is not permitted near any buildings. If you do smoke, please dispose of cigarette ends responsibly in the bins provided.

All general household waste should be placed in the bin. Please do not use them for camping equipment or electrical items.

Water

Water taps are shared, so please do not connect direct feeds. We kindly ask that you do not use the taps for washing vehicles or filling large paddling pools.

CCTV

For your safety, CCTV operates at the entrance, around the commercial bin area, and across parts of the site.

Walks

  • The Barlow Circular (4.6 miles) - An easy and delightful circular trail that takes you through the beautiful North East Derbyshire countryside.

  • Linacre Reservoirs Loop (Up to 5 miles)- A tranquil walk located just west of Barlow. You can do the full 5-mile loop or a shorter version around the three reservoirs.

  • Between the Reservoirs & Wilkin Hill (7.4 miles) - A moderate 3-hour loop taking in mixed woodland paths, open fields, and gentle climbs.

  • Barlow Brook & Fish Ponds (2.5 miles) -A quick, gentle 1-hour walk leading through local fields, woods, and alongside the Barlow Brook stone bridge.

We reccomend using Komoot to discover local trails from the campsite.

There’s always something happening locally too, from the Barlow Village Carnival in August to the Dronfield Beer Festival in June. At Christmas, the village comes alive with tractor runs and fun carol nights at The Peacock at Barlow.
